Background

The Scientific Institute for Quality of Healthcare (IQ healthcare) organizes a summerschool for practitioners and researchers working in the field of healthcare. The school handles the following themes: Concepts of quality improvement, strategic management of projects, development of clinical guidelines, performance Indicators, evaluation of implementation interventions, and practicalities of running quality improvement studies. Throughout the course participants are invited to present their projects.

Programme

Theme: Concepts and strategies of quality Improvement research
• Introduction and overview of the field
• Concepts, theories and models
• Strategic management of quality improvement projects

► Day 2 Wednesday 1st of September by dr. Jako Burgers & dr. Mariëlle Ouwens

Theme: Guidelines and performance Indicators
• Development and evaluations of clinical guidelines
• Development and use of performance indicators

► Day 3 Thursday 2nd of September by dr. Michel Wensing & guest speaker

Theme: Development and evaluation of implementation Interventions
• Development of tailored implementation interventions
• Study design and methods for evaluation studies
• Project management

Note If there are non-Dutch speaking participants the lectures will be in English.

Participants: Minimum of 8 and maximum of 20
Course fee: 1000 Euro including accommodation (two nights), lunches and dinners, and two books (see below)
